The Abita Springs Opry is a series of music concerts held six times a year and is produced by a nonprofit organization, Abita Opry Inc. The show has the mission of preserving and presenting Louisiana "Roots" music. Our music is played primarily acoustically, in its original form.

Our main thrust is old-time Country, Bluegrass, and traditional Southern Gospel music, but we often present other forms of traditional Louisiana music such as Cajun, Zydeco, Irish, or other types that reflect the many different groups of people who are part of our diverse culture.

The Travis Clark Band: This is another first-time group to appear on our stage. If pure traditional “Honkytonk” Country music is to your liking, you will love this group. Country and Bluegrass musical genres have always been important parts of the Abita Springs Opry. They are parts of the very beautiful patchwork of traditional Louisiana music forms. That’s what we do at the Opry - "Preserve and present Louisiana roots music".

The Slick Skillet Serenaders: Jug band music is a very catchy and fun to listen to style of music. It is bluesey, jazzy, folksy, and thoroughly enjoyable. The serenaders have appeared on our stage previously in October ’16 and are a premier jug Band in New Orleans. We loved hearing them previously and looking forward to hearing them again.

Pat Reedy and the Long-Time Goners: Pat is a gifted songwriter and strong Country music performer. His songs are country, but other influences bleed into his music. It is a great fusion sound, and you will love listening to this band and singers. There was an initial concern about having two Country groups in the same show, but after listening to Pat’s music, I realized that his originality would counterbalance the very traditional styling of the other group. We are looking forward to hearing what Pat will be bringing.

The Lucky Dogs:
They have been here before, and what they do is nothing less than pure fun and entertainment. This group can get the audience smiling, singing, and clapping along. They are pure New Orleans Rhythm and Blues. If you are fans of New Orleans greats like Fats Domino, Ernie K-Doe, Clarence “Frogman Henry,” Chris Kenner, and others of that ilk and Kin, this is the group you don’t want to miss.
