The Abita Springs Opry is a series of music concerts held six times a year and is produced by a nonprofit organization, Abita Opry Inc. The show has the mission of preserving and presenting Louisiana "Roots" music. Our music is played primarily acoustically, in its original form.

Our main thrust is old-time Country, Bluegrass, and traditional Southern Gospel music, but we often present other forms of traditional Louisiana music such as Cajun, Zydeco, Irish, or other types that reflect the many different groups of people who are part of our diverse culture.

The Steve Anderson Group:
This is our longest lasting House band. Steve has been pleasing audiences for many years with his genuineness and heartfelt very traditional interpretations of old-time Country music classics. He is a self-taught local guy who can perform anywhere, and we are fortunate to have him as an Opry regular.

Sweet Olive String Band:
Pure traditional American string music and vocals is the specialty of this group of very experienced and competent musicians. One of the featured musicians in the band is Pat Flory. Pat was performing and playing traditional music long before it resurfaced in the music scene. He was also an anchor musician and one of the originators of our predecessor show, the Piney Woods Opry.

Jackson and the Janks:
They were huge hits at last year’s Abita Springs Busker Festival. They have successfully fused some traditional, and Gospel songs with New Orleans rhythm and blues. They left the Busker Festival audience wanting more. The decision to book them for the Opry was a no-brainer, will be a treat for our audience.

Dwayne Doopsie and the Zydeco Hell Raisers:
High energy and the best accordion playing you will ever hear just begins to describe this musician. Zydeco is a uniquely Louisiana music genre that fuses the influences of Cajun music and Blues. It is hard driving and powerfully rhythmic. Dwayne is no stranger to our stage and one of the hardest working musicians to ever perform here.
