The Abita Springs Opry is a series of music concerts held six times a year and is produced by a nonprofit organization, Abita Opry Inc. The show has the mission of preserving and presenting Louisiana "Roots" music. Our music is played primarily acoustically, in its original form.

Our main thrust is old-time Country, Bluegrass, and traditional Southern Gospel music, but we often present other forms of traditional Louisiana music such as Cajun, Zydeco, Irish, or other types that reflect the many different groups of people who are part of our diverse culture.

The Steve Anderson Group:
Steve is one of our longest lasting house bands in our show’s history. We always like to start with a regular group to set the stage for the rest of the show. Steve gives us those great old country classics and is a crowd favorite. Steve has added a couple of new musicians to his group that rounds out the sound nicely. He is accompanied on vocals by another Opry favorite, Jan Biggs.

Big Easy Playboys:
These guys will bring us the very uniquely Louisiana style of music known as Zydeco. This hard-driving very rhythmic bluesy first cousin to Cajun music was developed the African American residents of Acadiana. They have performed for us previously and glad they will be returning to our stage.

Fair River Station:
This is a group of new comers to the Opry. They will be performing Bluegrass music. They have performed locally at the Old Feed Store concert series in Covington. They have been playing around for some time and are part of the very active bluegrass scene in Mississippi. We are looking forward to hearing them bring that energy to us.

Riverside Ramblers:
Jazz music originated in New Orleans in various places around the city. Brass bands have always been part on the Big Easy music scene, and The Riverside Ramblers will bring the brass band traditional New Orleans Jazz to the Opry stage. We are really looking forward to this performance.
